Everything people ask us first.
The studio, the shop, the licence and what happens after you buy. If the answer is not here, ask and a person replies.
Services 10
What services does Grid&Glow offer?
Branding and identity, packaging design, 3D modeling, 3D rendering, custom mockups, and web development. Book one service or the full chain, the process and quality standard stay the same either way.
Can I book just one service instead of a full project?
Yes. Most projects start as a single render, mockup or model. The full six-service process is there if you need it, never a requirement.
How does a custom project start?
You submit a request with whatever you have: a dieline, a moodboard, a photo, or a single sentence about the product. You get back a scope, a timeline and a price before any work begins.
How long does a custom project take?
It depends on complexity and current studio capacity. A single render or mockup usually moves faster than a full packaging or brand build. An estimated timeline is confirmed at the scope stage, not guessed on the website.
How is a custom project priced?
Every project is quoted individually: deliverables, formats, timeline and price, all agreed in writing before anyone opens a file. There is no hourly billing.
What if I need changes after delivery?
Revision rounds are part of the quote. Anything beyond what was agreed gets scoped and priced separately, so nothing shows up as a surprise on an invoice.
Who owns the files from a custom project?
Usage rights follow the same three-tier licence structure as the shop: Personal, Commercial, and Extended Commercial, agreed as part of the scope before work starts. Which tier applies depends on how you plan to use the final files.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes, when a project calls for one. Terms are reviewed case by case and may affect scope or pricing depending on what is being protected.
Can you use my project in your portfolio?
By default, yes, unless otherwise agreed. If you need full confidentiality, that is available as part of the project terms.
Can you match an existing shop file to my exact product?
Yes. If a mockup or 3D model in the shop is close but not exact, the studio builds the same quality to your specific size, angle or finish through Custom Mockups or 3D Modeling.
Your account & requests 6
Do I need an account to submit a request?
Yes. It keeps your project details, files and communication in one place instead of scattered across email.
I have submitted a request. What happens next?
Log in to your account using the same email address you put on the request form, then open My Requests. Your project is listed there.
Click it to open the project itself. From that page you can message the person doing the work, send additional files, see what has been delivered and pay invoices. Everything for that project lives in one place, so nothing has to be chased through email.
How do I check the status of my project?
Order Status in your account shows exactly which stage a project is in: scope, build, revise, or hand over.
Where do I find invoices and past purchases?
My Orders lists every transaction, shop purchases and custom project invoices alike, with downloads and payment status in one place.
How do I update my payment or contact details?
My Account covers contact info, billing, payout details for contributors, and notification preferences. Changes there apply immediately across the shop and any active projects.
Who do I talk to about an active project?
Requests go to the person actually doing the work, not to a ticket queue. If your studio contact changes as the team grows, you will be told directly rather than left guessing.
The shop 5
What is in the shop, besides mockups?
Ready-made mockups, mockup sets, and 3D models, with more asset types added as the collection grows. Everything is licensed and ready to use immediately.
Who makes what is in the shop?
A mix of in-house work and vetted contributors. Everything is reviewed for quality before it goes live, regardless of who built it.
Can I request something that is not in the shop yet?
Yes, that is usually where a custom project comes in. If it is close to something already in the shop, mention that in your request: it can speed up the scope.
Do you offer free files?
Yes, a rotating Freebies section, updated periodically. The same licence terms apply as to paid files, just at no cost.
Is there a trial version before I buy?
No, but every product page has detailed preview images and file specs so you know what you are getting before checkout.
Licensing 5
What are the three licence types?
- Personal. Personal projects, portfolio work and learning only.
- Commercial. Client work and marketing, up to 5 commercial projects.
- Extended Commercial. Unlimited projects, resale products, mass production.
Which licence do I need for my online store?
Commercial, for listings and marketing. If you are reselling the file itself as a product or template, you need Extended Commercial.
Can I use a file for a client's project?
Yes, with Commercial or Extended Commercial. The Personal licence does not cover client work.
I bought the wrong licence. What now?
Contact us with your order number and we will upgrade you. You only pay the difference.
Can I share the source file with a client?
You can share the final rendered result. Source files, meaning PSDs and 3D model files, are not shareable outside your own use under any tier. Custom project source files follow whatever was agreed for that project specifically.
Technical & digital 8
What software do I need?
Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 or newer for PSD mockups. Older versions may not fully support smart objects or certain layer effects. 3D files are delivered in formats confirmed at the scope stage: OBJ, FBX, or others depending on the project.
What file formats will I receive?
PSD, or TIFF, with a JPG preview for mockups. 3D deliverables vary by project and are confirmed before delivery. Custom project files match whatever was agreed in the scope.
How do I actually use a mockup file?
Open the PSD, find the smart object layer, double-click it, drop in your design and save. It updates on the mockup automatically.
How do I download my files?
Immediately after purchase or project delivery, via an email link and inside your account under My Orders. Downloads stay available indefinitely, with no expiration.
I did not get my download email. What now?
Check spam first, then your account: all purchases live there regardless of email delivery. Still nothing? Contact support with your order number.
Do you offer refunds on digital files?
Generally no, once a file is downloaded, given the nature of digital goods. Technical issues we cannot resolve are handled case by case, so contact us directly.
My order got flagged for review. What does that mean?
A routine fraud-prevention check. Contact support to verify the purchase and your files will be released.
I accidentally bought the same file twice.
Contact us with both order numbers and we will resolve it or refund the duplicate.
Working with us 2
Do you bring in outside contributors?
Yes, for both the shop's asset collection and for custom project work as the studio grows.
Is there a referral programme?
If a project or client you refer turns into paid work, reach out. Terms are confirmed directly per case, and we are glad to work that way.
